the little munchkins are sick... which leaves me little time for anything else. however, i can't stop my mind from dreaming up projects. i've had a hankering to make a bag. not just any bag, an amy butler bag. however, i'm a bit intimidated and a little scared that i might be in over my head. (heck, zippers are involved!) so maybe i'll start with THIS quick and easy bag i found thanks to martha... i can always count on her!

My sister just made me an Amy Butler bag, sooo cute! I will post a picture of it sunday so check my blog!
This is a cute bag! But I have seen the quilts you have made and you can totally make an Amy Butler. I have made a few and they're not too bad!
that is an adorable bag!! Go for it and PLEASE post pictures!! I wish I had the talent to sew!!
Oooh I have wanted to make that very tote! I got a little scared due to the pockets and bias tape (I'm not a great measurer) but can't wait to see how your will turn out. And for Amy Butler, my friend made a zipper free bag and it was really cute.
This bag is very cute, love all of the pockeets! I am in need of a new bag, might try this one too. As for the Amy Butler bag, you can definately do it, go slow, have the seam ripper ready, you'll be fine! -kb
What a great bag. I really like the colors too. After seeing the quilt you're working on, I have do doubts you could do that bag. Happy sewing!
A really good trick for putting in a zipper is to hand-baste it in place before you machine sew it. Basting holds it so much better than pins do. Just use a contrasting thread and fairly long stitches so it's easy to pull out the threads after you've finished sewing the zipper. Just take it one step at a time and you'll do great--and be really proud of the finished product!
you impress me so much with all of your sewing talents....keep it up..
