ummm... no, i'm not, but thanks for asking.

jeff says i need to get over it & i'm sure i will... eventually. but as a woman, it's not something you can simply just forget. what am i rambling on about, you ask? well... someone at church on sunday, asked me when i was due! hello?! i'll admit that my shirt may have been more baby doll than slim fitting, but come on! i may have had two kids, i might not have a six pack, but i definitely don't look like i'm prego! i've worked way too hard to have people asking me such silly silly questions.

that's the worst. i do think the babydoll shirts suggest pregnancy, but seriously - you don't look pregnant!!!

That is funny. You look no where close to it. Put on what you were wearing sunday and take a picture in that..post it. ; )

My friend and I were having a discussion about the baby doll shirts just the other day. I think they make everyone look like they could or couldn't be pregnant--but you don't ask!!!!! You don't look pregnant at all.

You definitely don't look pregnant! I have stayed away from the baby doll shirts for the very reason that I don't want to be mistaken as pregnant!

your stomach is flatter than flat, kelly. that person is obviously cra-zay. :)

That is just crazy! You are so skinny, how could anyone in their right mind think that? I had the flu last week and missed a day of work ... everyone asked me the next day if I was pregnant. Um, no. I can have the flu, without having a small one inside! :D

they must have been smoking something.

Ridiculous. You could not BE more skinny (and for that I'm trying not to resent you!). That is exactly why I can't wear a babydoll shirt or empire waist unless it's fitted. Becuase I DO look pregnant. And I'm not.

what? that is crazy. you don't look anywhere near prego.
i've learned never to ask, even if it's 'obvious'. you just never know.

NO NO NO...it's not you...it's just the shirt. I was just at a room mother meeting this morning and the most adorable lady was in charge...wearing THE CUTEST white baby doll blouse. But I could not focus on a word she said because I kept wondering, "Is it maternity or not?" She was tiny...under 5 ft and less than 100 pounds. But she kinda looked pregnant. It was just the shirt.

You look so awesome. You don't look anything close to pregant.

Oh, I think those types of questions are so hard. I try not to ask unless I'm 100% sure because those shirts certainly do make even teenagers look prego.

thanks for all the support ladies. i don't really think i look prego... not even close. which makes the question even more absurd. as i said i was wearing a baby dollish shirt - but seriously... a) if wasn't really baby dollish, it was tight on top & a bit flowy. but, it was lacey so you could totally see through it and see my shirt underneath & b) no matter what, that is simply not a question you ask people! i've learned that the conception of children is just NOT a subject you broach with most people. one way or another, it's not going to end up well.

I don't say something unless they have told me FROM their mouth that they are prego and they are super showing. It's a mind-field out there and the women at church are the bombs.

And don't you think old women are so much worse? I guess instead of compassion, they get crankier with each kid, cause it seems they feel they can say anything to anyone.

Kelly you are miss skinny mini.

Tonya said...

you are so totally skinny! No prego belly there. I got that a little while ago, but I was wearing a peasant top...so I am blaming it on that. I mean, come on now...I was holding my 5 month old at the time...Now that would be some close siblings!

Perhaps the person who asked is blind in one eye and had hit their head against the head board upon waking in the morning...that, or they just must be crazy!

Unknown said...

You definitely don't look pregnant! I would never ask anybody that, no matter what they are wearing, she must be crazy!

Now that's just nuts!

OH man! That can ruin your day:( I'm sorry! My policy is don't ask if someone's pregnant unless you see the baby coming out:):)

oh stop fishing for compliments--you KNOW you look great

;)

You should have told the inquisitive mind that you're due in about 736 days. She'd have been so busy trying to figure out WHEN EXACTLY that is, she'd have left you alone for a long time.

;)

lol, rochelle...

that's the only place I'd want to hear it from (as opposed to...?)

;)

she could have asked "when did you have your baby?" that's just as bad....

Yeah right! No way, Kelly, no way. That person was ca-razy!

I almost asked my neighbor if she was too. She looks way more popped out that you, You don't even look it. Anyway, I don't know if she is, but I am glad I didn't ask. I'm sure I will find out in 9 months anyway.

That's why everyone has been staring at my stomach lately? Gotta get rid of my babydoll shirts (but they are too cute...so I won't).

Michelle Alley said...

Oh my, if that's you in the picture, I think the person who asked is blind.
