it's our thursday ritual.

each & every thursday the boys have swim lessons - often the highlight of their week. and each & every thursday, we stop at our local greasy spoon for the highlight of my week.... grilled cheese sandwiches on sourdough, french fries & a large mr. pibb with LOTS of ice. what's so great about this local dive that i insist on frequenting it at least once a week, if not more? they have crushed ice. & for a girl with an ice fetish, that's a dream come true.

I love the crushed "good" ice too. It's my favorite. That's why I love to go to Dairy Queen. They're the only place I know of that has it. Some company is coming out with a fridge/freezer that makes that ice. Someday I hope I can have one. :)

Ooh...grilled cheese on sourdough bread. Mmmm... Excuse my slobber, that sounds soooo good!

The crushed ice is one of the reasons I like going to the hospital to have a baby. Things do just taste better with crushed ice.

I love crushed ice too. Here in Utah at the Sonic you can buy it by the bag, $1.25. My favorite.

I was reading some of you previous posts and saw your post for an April Fool's joke. Wondering if you were involved in the incident that caused children to get sick at a school for eating toothpaste oreo cookies? It was all over the news where I live. A large amount of toothpaste ingested can make you ill. Here is the news clip:
http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local&id=6060100

I have to say I'm a little worried about the children you care for if toothpaste in cookies is your idea of a joke. I thought everyone knew ingesting a large amount of toothpaste will make you sick. You may want to get in touch with a Poison Control Center to find out what else you may not know.

clearly the joke would have it's limits and your watchful eye... One bite and the jig is up--'anonymous' sounds quick to judge?

You had me all the way up until Mr. Pibb. No way! Dr. Pepper forever!

Hi Kelly...I ordered some necklaces from you last week and loved them so much I wanted to come lyour blog. It is one of my favorites! You are so crafty and talented and darling. I normally don't make comments on people's blogs that I don't personally know, but after that MEAN comment from anonymous, I thought I would.

P.S. Crushed Ice Rules!

Wow! Anonymous is quite the judge! I have known about this April Fool's Joke for YEARS! It has been used in my family and NOBODY has gotten sick! Lighten up. I'm sure Kelly didn't have anything to do with kids ingesting toothpaste!

Mmmm.... I'm heading over to Sonic now to get myself a drink with that yummy ice. I hope they are open at 8:30 am.

I love crushed ice...

Well, since I'm not a judge but "quick to judge". We'll have to see if a real judge will think that the prank (that's been all over the news) stemmed from the person getting the idea to do it "according to kelly".

Yum! I love crushed ice! I used to work at the hospital and a coke with crushed ice was the best... I have since cut back... It's just not the same without the ice!

jessica - i'm with you on the dr. pepper. that's definitely my drink of choice, but my local dive only has mr. pibb so that will have to do!

as for anonymous - i certainly hope & truly doubt i had anything to do with that incident where you live. for starters, it's definitely not a new idea, it's probably one of the most well known april fool's day ideas out there. maybe i should have spelled it out, but i wouldn't suggest letting anyone ingest an entire cookie. although, it's kinda hard to imagine that anyone would, as my other anonymous commenter pointed out, one bite and the jig is up.

who knew a post about an idea for an april's fool day prank would create so much stir.

Local dive's are the BEST! A grilled cheese and a soda sound perfect right about now. Smack.

Amen to the ice, from one addict to another!

I'm laughing at your anonymous STALKER! What a freak!

Can we all say it together..."UPTIGHT."

question...why would anyone think kelly had anything to do with the incident in NY? and maybe the boy should have said, this tastes weird, maybe i shouldn't eat it...why won't people take accounting for their own actions, but always blame another? i could use an xl cherry coke with crushed ice from hires right now...after reading that...too bad i'm in california...

Crazy anonymous person. Sounds to me like they need to find something better to do with their time. And I agree with Kelly... one bite and it's over, personally I would spit it out once I realized it was toothpaste.

A good ice crusher and strong fountain drinks will be in my celestial kitchen someday! Can't wait...

Dang, now I want ice from sonic like NOW. Too bad it's Sunday. What time do they open in the morning? I love good crushed ice too. Did you know you can by it by the bag at Sonic? Then you can have a stash in your fridge to have at a moment's notice.

The local greasy spoon...AHHH! And one of the most perfect meals known to man! At my local I go for the tuna melt and fries with a chocolate shake. The shake comes in a bog old fashioned glass and you get the metal cup they mix it in, also, so it's practically 2 drinks!

As for the toothpaste in the cookies joke, I am a middle school teacher and kids pull that one every year. One of our teachers eats them all, and he's not dead yet!!
