some free advice.

next time you're having a crappy day (although this advice would pertain to just about every day), do not, under any circumstances attempt to cut your own bangs. it doesn't matter how well you cut fabric, or how easy the "professionals" may make it look... what ever your reasoning, in the end you'll definitely regret it. take me - i've been going for the stick straight, hopefully a bit reminiscent of heidi klum, bang look. they've been getting a touch long, & this morning i decided i would just trim them up. scissors in hand, i began to cut. a little snip here, a little snip there, some evening up the straglers & suddenly i realized i had cut way more than i had ever planned. they are still pretty uneven, but i don't dare touch them again. this is definitely something best left for the professionals, hopefully i've learned my lesson. i guess i'll be sporting a hat for the next couple of days, maybe even weeks... at least i won't have to worry about fixing my hair.

Oh no! I've done that so many times. Lately I've been snipping at the back of my hair. My hairdresser noticed and asked me to stop. oops! ;) I'm sure it doesn't look as bad as you think.

don't worry. i had a bad day once and cut off about 4-6 inches off my head. be happy you have like an inch to grow back. could be worse!

I wonder if my mom always cut my bangs on crappy days, because I spent years with bangs that were about a half inch long by the time they were "evened up."

I did that too once, those little clippies work wonders and make it look like it is supposed to be that way...Good luck!

I feel you pain. Once on a bad day I let my friend dye my hair blonde (one of those fabulous color in a box things)...I looked insane!! $150 dollars later I had my old hair color back! Luckily bangs grow pretty quick!

If I had a dollar for every time I've done this...I'd be a very, very wealthy woman.

Oh bless your heart and your crooked bangs. Been there years ago when I had bangs and just recently tried to cut the back of my hair. It was down to my shoulders. To fix it it sits above my ears. Fortunately I love it, but man o man.

uh, hate that! I've finally learned how to cut my own bangs and now I won't even trust a hairdresser to do it...its hard to explain on this, but I'll have to show you next time we're together....but, after reading this entry I remembered seeing this on yahoo...

i didn't really look into it, but its all about how to cut your own bangs...I suppose it would've helped prior to having done it...feel better!!

If you need to even them out... try snipping with the scissors pointed up.

you just take off a bit at a time, and it makes them whispy rather than choppy.

but then again, you may want a professional to take over for now!
