The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. (written back in the 70's)

SO good - very funny and incredibly touching. My parents used to read this outloud to me all the time when I was a kid. :)

Yes, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! We read it every single year.

Also, The Jolly Christmas Postman. It has real letters inside. Such a cute Christmas book. (I am too lazy to go look to see who the author is).

I am glad you posted these. Me and the hubs are trying to read a story every night til the 25th and now I don't have to search the internet every evening looking for a good one!

Have you ever read I Believe In Santa Claus? It ties in similarities between Santa and Christ. It is my VERY favorite Christmas book!!

I Believe in Santa Claus by Diane G Adamson. Simple, well-said, but harder to find. You'll have to order it online.

You might look at the DVD version of The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey with Tom Berenger and Joely Richardson. It's true to the values of the book.

What a great list!
Our all time favorite is...

You Are My Miracle (from the creators of You Are My I Love You)
by Maryann Cusimano Love & Satomi Ichikawa.

It is our ALL TIME favorite, I can't get through it without getting teary eyed!

We love "The Christmas Mystery" by Jostein Gaarder. We read a chapter a night through December building up to the story conclusion on Christmas Eve. It is a favorite tradition for our family.
