p-touch labeler giveaway.

i don't know... maybe it's just the typical new year clean & purge, or maybe it's the typical pregnancy nesting. whatever the reason, i've definitely been on an organizational kick. my pantry is organized, the pots & pans are neatly stacked, i've cleaned out all of the closets & organized them all by color. toys have been sorted, the fabric stash is now neatly folded, even the hubby's tools in the garage have been labeled & put away. & let me tell you, this isn't normal "kelly" behavior. sure i'm tidy, but i've never been an organizational queen. but i have to admit, it's actually rather fun. & as mary poppins says:

in ev'ry job that must be done
there is an element of fun
you find the fun & snap!
the job's a game.
so how does a non-ocd girl like myself, find herself addicted to organizing, you ask? it's all thanks to the latest addition to our household... a p-touch labeler. who knew this tiny, hand-held device would change my life? although, i'm the first to admit that i've probably gone a bit overboard (do you think labeling the "toilet paper" shelf is too much?), but it's so much fun watching those little labels print out.

so are you jealous yet? wishing you had your own p-touch labeler? well, you are going to LOVE me... this week, one lucky person is going to win their very own p-touch 1010. how about that?

so here are the rules of the game:
* you have until midnight PST on thursday, january 29th to enter.
* simply make a comment on this post to enter... i'd love to hear your favorite organizing tip, or how you'd use your very own p-touch labeler.
* anyone can enter (so tell your friends), although anonymous comments will be ignored unless accompanied by an email address.
* please, just one entry per person.
* the winner will be randomly picked & announced friday.

Ummmm...I would love to feed my OCD with that tasty little gadget!

I organize by sorting all the toys into bins, taking a picture of the contents, then printing the picture onto a label and sticking it on the bin. But now that I have a reader, the p-touch label would be a much easier solution.

I would loove to finally organize all those totes up in my attic with this labeler!

I just need another labeler. My croaked:( I use them for everything!!! I miss mine.

Altho my DH would argue that I simply do not need another tool to feed my love of organising, what mother could be without one? It would be perfect for soooo many areas in the house... the kitchen (no more guessing which jar is the plain or self-raising flour!), organising the kids room would be a breeze and not to mention my craft room.... I am getting giddy just thinking of how much fun I could have!

Marla said...

Oh, fancy! I love that labeler! I label toys bins...it doesn't help the kids ( not reading yet, need to attach pics too) but it simply helps the hubby & I pick up and put away pretty quick!

Anonymous said...

Oh! I love you blog and the p-touch labeler! I was hoping Santa would bring one for me, but alas, there wasn't one under the tree. I'd love to use it to label toy bins/shelves for my 4 year old son who is learning to read simple words like "ball" and "blocks." I'm sure some other things would be labeled, too!

I've been looking at these and would love to win one! Perhaps then I'd get to stop opening my storage containers to see what's in them and realizing it's still the baby clothes from two years ago!

Awesome giveaway. I am currently expecting and due in a matter of weeks. I have been nesting/organizing like it's going out of style. I would use the label maker to organize my "pantry." Which is basically just a few cabinets above my washer and dryer. I could seriously use this label maker!

Natalie Jane said...

Oh man this is the best giveaway ever. I would love to get organized before baby two gets here. I have one closet done : http://shane-natalie.blogspot.com/2009/01/stuff-closet.html

Now I have the rest of the house to finish. Would be great for food storage shelves!

Jan said...

I'd LOVE to have this -- I label everything. Really.

I have a stack of IKEA bins that are all labeled in a sort of amateurish fashion - this would make me look like the OCD pro that I really am!

My Two Army Brats said...

Maybe a fun gadget like this would get me off of my computer and into a cleaning/organizing/getting rid of junk mood!

Jamie said...

This is just what I need to kick start my spring organizing

Melissa said...

I love organizing and at one time actually considered being a "professional organizer." haha My fave thing is organize by colors.. I love the colors of the rainbow and think everything should be in a ROY G BIV order. hehe
thanks so much!!

Amy said...

I have two huge organizing projects that I am working on, my craft space and my mom's sewing area. I need to label everything, otherwise neither one of us will put things where they belong!!

Megan said...

i would label EVERYTHING. i love organizing and having things "in their place"... this will fix my ocd fix (maybe!)...

Traci said...

what a great give-away. i have never had one of these and i would put it to great use with my husbands tools and the tykes rooms for sure! i do like being organized so that my life can run smooth!

IronLawGirl said...

I'd love to share an organizational tip with you, but truth is, I have none. There isn't a single lable in my house. And I'm constantly talking about how much easier our lives would be if we could find stuff, but just don't know where to start. Moving twice in the last five months doesn't help, but 2009 is a new Kristin! Organization here I come!

Anonymous said...

I'm not OCD either, but getting more organized never hurt anyone. Gotta label the kids' stuff, and all of my crafting supplies.

JEWEL said...

We are planning on organizing and decorating the craft room once we get our tax return! The P Touch would be great to have to label all the containers I plan to get to finally get everything in its place.

LOL...how WOULDN'T I use that thing? I have 3 kids (3 yrs, 19 mths, and 4 mths old) and there is STUFF everywhere. It drives my OCD husband crazy when there is clutter.

I just organized all my kids toys into shoe-box-size Tupperware. I would love to use this to label them!

I've always wanted a labeler!

megan said...

Just what I need to get organized.

Andy said...

The night I got my first p-touch my husband hid it when he went to sleep. He was afraid he's wake up with "Husband" affixed to his forehead. I am obsessed with labelling!

Anonymous said...

I would have a small affair... I love labels! I like seeing a row of notebooks with labeled spines, bins with labels inserted into metal brackets, tags tangling from baskets and stenciled names above towel hooks. Needless to say, I would spend time labeling all that I can because yes, the toilet paper shelf NEEDS a label!

Ashley Perrigin said...

I would love one of these to able to organize my scrapbooking things. I have so much and I can't keep it all together. I really hope to win this

Chelsea said...

What a fun giveaway! I LOVE to organize and can't believe I've never owned a labeler - I would probably tackle the kids toy bins first! :)

kribss said...

we use it for everything- from kitchen spices, flour to even my son using it to label his school binders + dividers.

Naomi Ockeman said...

i love to organize and see everything I have.

I organized my mom's scraproom and she had so many stamps and didn't know what she had.

So I took a stamp image of every stamp, cut each one out, and arrange them on a space on her wall above her work area (organized by them, of course).

so she can see every stamp she has and use it!

it so helped!!!

thanks for sharing!

I would love one of these. We are moving in six weeks and for some reason I feel the need to organize before I pack. Who wants to move stuff they don't want?! A labeler would be wonderful help!

Sarah B. said...

My supervisor at work has one of those and I have always wanted one.....I REALLY need to start organizing my childrens rooms. We are re-doing them and this would be oh so helpful. :)

Sandy said...

OMG! This thing would be perfect for (finally) organizing my over-large stash of yarn. Not to mention all the bins of holiday decorations, and the out-of-season clothes, and the shelves in the linen closets....

PS. I just found your blog by serendipity and I am already in love!

Sheen said...

i've never had a labeler. i'm sure i could put it to good use.

i love to organize any & everything. it just feels good, doesn't it?!

great give.a.way!

Well let's just say OCD is seriously in my blood. I have to have all the toys picked up and the house straighten every night before I go to bed. Plus I'm super happy when I can see vacuum lines in my carpet! WEIRD!!
*best tip*...lay out a weekly plan of things to clean...that way I don't feel overwhelmed.

Patricia L said...

I would love a labeler so that I can pretend that I am more organized than I actually am! :)

Christina said...

I feel the need to label tubs of craft supplies and countless rubbermaid bins filling my basement. Hooray for getting organized in '09!

Oh, this would come in handy right now as I am in the middle of organizing my home!!

Thanks for the chance to win!!

I am not an organizational person. I like cleanliness, but I that only goes as far as the parts of my house everyone can see. All my drawers and closets look like they were just hit by a huge twister. I would love to win this labeler to use as an incentive to get things organized... Maybe I will just start organizing and hope that karma works in my favor this once :)

Lene said...

I have wanted one of these for the longest time.

I would be labeling everything....not only the toilet paper shelf, but maybe even the toilet paper holder (to remind those who use the last bit and don't replace it)

I too would love to feed my OCD! I would help me label totes, boxes, bins, filed...Oh it would be heaven!

Im all about using baskets or bins for organization, problem is, i often forget whats in them, which is why I could use something like this!

I'd probably start with my pantry and then go crazy with the rest of my house! I've been wanting one of these for a while!

This must be a sign! I was just searching for a labeller and thought I would take a break to read some blogs. I happened to stumble upon your blog after stumbling upon another one. And wouldn't you know it! The first time I see your blog you are having a giveaway! For the very thing I NEED! And yes I am just crazy about the prospect of owning this!!

My favorite Organizing trick is to use photo boxes. I have them in my linen closet, bedroom closet, and craft room. I love the colors and they hide everything, making it look uniform and neat. I am actually posting a series on these wonderful items this week, starting with my linen closet. Check back to day to read all about it!

Oh, and please pick me!!! :-)

Unknown said...

oh, i almost bought one of these the other day... i really need to organize and this would help. i think i'll organized everything, right down to the dog!

Sharlene said...

What show was it where someone got a labeler and started labeling the whole house? Cuz that's what I would do! Oh the fun I could have...

mustangkayla said...

Thats a cool machine! I'm such an organize freak. I start at one end of the house and try to work my way to the other getting rid of un-needed items and put items in 'better' homes'.

I think that I would give this as a gift to my parents. They are family history consultants and I think that they could use a little organization & labeling when doing research.

Oh my goodness! I was just watching a commercial for one of these on tv and this woman had labeled everything in her pantry and it was so wonderfully organized and I thought how much I would want to have one of those!

Maybe I could keep my kid's names straight if each one of them had a fresh little label stuck to their forehead each morning...

I also think my pantry would love to be labeled up and organized.

Very cool giveaway, Kelly!

I don't have any tips, wehich is why I need this. HELP!

I spend a lot of time it seems making piles and trying to sort or organize but then I never get to the next step, as i have to dig through boxes and piles to find what I had 'organized' to put into it's new home. A three year old, six month old and another on the way, I need to get it all completed soon!

Joyce said...

I could use a labeler so bad!! I too have been on an organizing kick and it just doesn't seem complete but I think with the labeler all my organizing dreams will come true!!

OK...I do think I have OCD and this would be so much fun! Ha ha ha! Ooooh...hours of labeling toys and bins and so much more. Maybe it would stop some of the fights about what is "mine" from my little girlies... wishful thinking!

I will steal my labeler from work every once in awhile to organize at home. I have been having the nesting itch myself, since way back when I was pregnant, all the stuff I didn't get to is still calling my name!

Janelle said...

Pick me, please. Pretty please. My house is in desperate need of being labelled! :)

Jena said...

I'm not an organized person, but I've never been this disorganized! I blame my husband. Well, only a little. Really, I blame moving four times. I've lost just about any organizational abilities I had, except pertaining to the kitchen. Even my husband can't keep track of which of his desk drawers hold what--and I try not to venture into his desk area. (I make exceptions only for fountain pen ink and Post-Its.)

Tonya Staab said...

Oooh, I'd love to win this. I'm a bit of an organizing junkie and have just recently purchased a ton of containers for my craft supplies that will need labeling.

Shanda said...

OHH i would love this!

I organize by buying all kinds of wicker baskets. You can usually finr atleast 2 in each room and i put everything in them. I just love the way they look so it makes it fun to organize when i buy a new one at the store :)

{Erica} said...

OH MY HECK!!! I added this to the things I WANT/NEED last week!!! crossing all my fingers and toes that I win!

M & M said...

I would LOVE an labeler. It could label things instantly instead of making a list, typing it up, waiting for enough items to warrent printing on a sheet of labels and then going back and actually labeling the item! Such a time-saver.

Tiffany said...

I have wanted this little baby for a long time now! I would use it to label all my food storage that I am now collecting!

C World said...

the labeler looks awesome! i like the "one spot for everything" organizing rule so you always know where it is when you need to find it! :)

Unknown said...

Ooooh! These are so awesome. I had one similar that I used when I worked fast food as a manager. My office was neat and tidy. I have been wishing for one lately, both at home and in my classroom. What a great tool!

wendeth said...

I've always wanted one of these! (No idea why I haven't bought one before..)
I would label everything. It wouldn't be safe to be near me. I would especially love to take it to work and get rid of al the masking tape and sharpie labels on the drawers!

KMR said...

This would be a great kick start. Thanks for the opportunity. I need to organize my office.

We just cleaned out our storage room and actually went through the boxes that we hadn't opened since we moved in. I could totally use the labeler since I'm planning on tackling my studio next.

Julie said...

I have one of these and I'm still not organized DANG IT!

Libby said...

I could lie and say that I want one of these purely for organizational purposes. Honestly, I just love little machines. I would print labels just to see them being printed. I guess that organization would be a bonus for me.

Lissete said...

I can sooo use this! I have tons of boxes everywhere and not a single one is labeled! I would also use this to organize my files.

The only way to keep my counter clean is by having a catch all basket. For some reason, my kitchen counter is a magnet for all the junk that comes in the house.

Anonymous said...

I would love to label my bathroom supplies. I hate when extra toothpaste is next to extra soap!

Erika said...

LOVE nesting! I am envious of your newly organized house and could definitely use this labler to bring some order to our toys!!

Becky said...

I'm pregnant and feeling nesty myself! I would use my labeler to keep all the different sizes of baby clothes organized in bins and boxes!

When my kids were younger, I lived by "color coding'. Each kid had a color (laundry basket, toothbrush, etc..) and that was their color. As they've gotten older I've gone away from that but I love to label things. I think DH is more of a labeling nut than I am. I'd love to win this!

I organize all of my craft stuff into categories (sewing, embellishments, paint, paintbrushes, etc) into rubbermaid containers of similar sizes so they stack right on top of each other -- works great and fits right into my bookcase!

megan said...

very generous of you! I've never used one of these and kind of thought they were uneccessary, but after reading your post, I WANT one :-)

Kristen said...

My best organization tip is to hire my best girlfriend (who is MUCH tidier then I) over to my house for a couple of hours. I'm paying her, which means I want it to be productive and we are good enough friends that she can boss me around -- especially when it comes to tossing things. She just has that "look."
I know I'd go just as Label Happy as you have!

I actually print labels on regular computer paper and run them through the xyron. Man I'm a loser.

When I need to organize and feel overwhelmed, I make myself "put away" 10 things. Small or big, everything counts. If I get to 10 and want to keep going, yay for me. If that's all I want to do, I'm OK with that - I met my quota.
