work in progress.

i have to admit, it's still hard to believe that i'm having a girl. already outnumbered 3 to 1, i was totally prepared to hear that another boy was on the way. so, it's taken some time to adjust to the fact that this little one will be bundled in a little bit more pink than blue. & to tell you the truth, the thought of all that pink kinda scares me! so i'm starting slowly, i wouldn't want to overwhelm my senses. this first quilt is actually more blue, with just a few touches of pink... it's all about the baby steps.

The quilt is beautiful!

Nobody says girls have to always be in pink. ALL pink creeps me out, too! You want them to be well rounded individuals, right? Starting them out by dressing them in everything pink, with lace, with a skirt - geez, we're setting them up for failure! LOL!

Pretty! I can't wait to see the whole thing completed.

Don't be scared of pink. You want people to know she's a girl!

I'm so happy you are having a girl! (I never have dressed my girls in frilly little pink things.)

The quilt is very pretty. I can't wait to "meet" this new baby!

I had been wondering about you and that baby girl of yours. Hope you are feeling good. I know you are going to be a great mom to her and what little girl wouldn't LOVE to have you as a mom!

Congrats on the girl! I just had a baby girl Monday (6 weeks early). I'm the same way with pink! Lol...I am doing the room (it's just barely started...I thought I had more time) in lime green and purple! I'll join your baby steps to pink program!

Ha! I was so not into having a girl. Then she got here, and the rest is history. Oh, and by the way, EVERYTHING she owns is pink. And I Looooveit! :-) You will to. Trust me. Once you get into buying girls clothes, it's a whole nother ball game! Enjoy. I can't wait to see this finished project.

Beautiful quilt! I can't wait to see it all finished up!

Do you have a name picked out for your little girl?

Tracy said...

My daughters room isn't pink...lol!
It is kind-of an aqua color...she doesn't even like pink. So...I wouldn't worry much about that...plus with older brothers, she will be a tomboy! ;o}

oh, i am so excited to see it finished, love the colors and material!!! you are going to love having a girl, i am sure it is taking some time to adjust too, but after you go shopping for girls, it will be way easy, there is sooo much of it!

That quilt is just gorgeous. So beautiful! I love that look for a little girl quilt--feminine and pretty, but, not too "girly". So beautiful and classic. She will love it.

oh, it looks beautiful! Great job! And don't worry--- the pink will grow on you. When are you due?

It's BEAUTIFUL!!! Your kids are so lucky to have such a TALENTED mom! My kids never even owned (or probably never will) a home-made quilt...

The quilt looks like it is going to be priceless.
I have to say, I love a little girl in ruffles.

After two little boys, Christie declared she was not going to do pink with her baby girl. Everything was brown and white gingham, to tie in with her boy-life. Hannah was born LOVING pink! Get ready!

Congrats on your upcoming little girl.
You have the right to go a little overboard on the pink for a while.
