bathing beauty?

outside the sky is dark & the rain is coming down so hard, i actually think it might be time to start building my ark. and yet, i find myself dragging (or did i actually waddle?) my extremely round, extremely large, extremely pregnant self out to the car to go.... bathing suit shopping.

have i lost my mind? not exactly the self-esteem booster that i am desperately in need of! but, with both my doctor & chiropractor forbidding me from participating in pretty much anything that slightly resembles exercise (cycling, running, even yoga), i'm going just a wee bit crazy. so, i've decided to attempt swimming. notice, i said attempt. i'm not exactly the strongest of swimmers, but i'm hoping all this extra "insulation" i've been carrying around the last couple of months will make me a little more buoyant. if anything, i'll be the talk of the gym, as i strut my stuff... at least i won't be sporting an "itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini". although, i do find myself wishing i could look as glamorous as these lovely ladies. wonder where i can myself a ruffled swim cap and matching swim suit?

oh I am sure you look great! You don't even want to see the bathing suit I used when I was pregnant- hideous, but it was free. Who knows, you may find that you love swimming!

I am predicting you will LOVE swimming. I'm a runner, and so it was really hard when I couldn't run any more being pregnant.

Some women are built to last and can run throughout pregnancy...I'm not one of them. I think it's my extremely short torso, but there is NO WAY I can run after 20 weeks along. I'm not kidding...physically impossible. It kills me...until I get into the pool. It's the best. It's a little weird at first, but you feel like a million bucks after.

Good luck, and I'm sure you will look FABULOUS!!!

I remember doing this whenI was pregnant. It is just a glimpse into your future. You need to think a little bit about summer, swimming and your old body.
I LOVE this picture.

Good luck! All my babies were born in the winter/spring so I never had a maternity swimsuit.

I would much rather be looking for a swimsuit for a pregnant belly, than for 'this' belly :). Good luck.

I love that photo.

It's hard to get into a new exercise routine. Hope you enjoy it. Check out this Portland swimwear. I'm loving the Retro Sadie-red white Polka Dot.

I love that photo. Those were the glam days. Maybe Sports Illustrated should revert back to the 50s!
