after my beauty intervention a couple of weeks ago, orchestrated by my four year old son of all people, i realized i really need to keep my eyebrows tamed. & to be honest, i can totally understand why gavin thought i looked scary. i don't just have eyebrows, they are more like hairy, bushy caterpillars that grow above my eyes. so, if i don't stay on top of it, things can definitely get scary.
in light of the recent economic crunch, that i'm sure everyone is feeling, i figured i'd save a little money & do some of the "maintenance" myself. you'd think i'd have learned my lesson after my attempt at cutting my own bangs, but no... i figured at little tweezing here & there, & maybe a bit of a trim & i would be as good as new. heck - i did it for years on my own, before i ever sought a professional's help.
yeah, i think i went a bit too far. everything started out fine, let's just say i got a bit carried away with the trimming, & one eyebrow is looking a bit stubby. i think it's time to get a professional's help, although i'm definitely not looking forward to the chastising i'm going to get from the little old lady who threads my eyebrows. already, i can see her shaking her head & tsking me. & did i mention that i'm attending a big wedding next week? i'll be the big, fat pregnant lady wearing the eye patch. (maybe i can "beadazzle" the eye patch with a few rhinestones.)

I have so butchered myself before- lucky for me I learned my lesson that time and have never done it again. who knows, maybe you will start the next big fashion craze with your bedazzled patch!
I totally know how you feel...happens to me every time I swear!
Oh my! I like your cover! Ahoy mate!
That's classic. I need to go and get my eyebrows done. They are awful.
I am with ya....tried highlighting my hair once and big clumps fell out...
Start a new trend...I like the Mommy patch!!
had it happen before, just get your makeup done by someone before the wedding and they can make it look okay with a pencil--- it wont look like your are penciling in your eyebrows... They usually make it look natural!
i can only say one thing...scary...
I like the mommy patch too! I have a confession myself, I have two sisters that do hair and yet I still try to cut my bangs...I fail miserably! Is there a patch for that??
**I can't wait for your tutorial on bedazzling eye patches...
Kelly, you are hillarious! I trim my own bangs and try to tweeze my own brows between official visits too...and then one day I actually look in the mirror and think, "Who is that weirdo?" I'm sure you look as beautiful as ever, though.
I use the at home wax strips. They are already shaped like eyebrows. they are great!!!
Bedazzle the belly instead, take the focus off your eyebrows lol I think every woman has over-tweezed at some point or other! My trick is that I go get waxed once every six months and just tweeze in between to keep everything a little more tame. Still saves money and the general shape the professional gave me is still there!
The pirate look will get that wedding hopping!
i'm the opposite- my eyebrows are pretty much non-existent and so i fill them in with a little eyebrow shadow or pencil. and there's been many a day where i realize half way through that only one eyebrow was done, or i went overboard and they look drawn on. eyebrows are tough! good luck with growing yours back!
Go to the MAC counter at SCP Nordstrom and ask for CJ! Seriously. She can help. (Look at my tweets from yesterday!)
too funny! I know the feeling, I've gotten a bit carried away with the brows myself, but never thought to wear an eye patch! I'll have to remember that trick!
I think a bedazzled eye patch would be perfect!!!
And, don't fret, I've offed my eyebrows too many times to remember.
you look great..love the new look..I'm a OC mom too. Adding your button to "local gals" on my blog.
Cheers
heheheee!
I have a trimmer, that came with a protecting comb. It is perfect when you use it on. I forgot to put it on, and cleaned 2/3rd of my eyebrow. And guess what, I did it twice. And I don't know if this is a coincidence but, I was pregnant at both times.
Lead pencil worked quite well for correcting by the way.
