what do you get when you combine a t-shirt, a little dye, some home-made stencils & a spritz of household cleaner? the perfect birthday present for a gal who likes to "make stuff".

This is awesome! I have to ask a totally dumb question - what's the "spritz of household cleaner" for?

making this shirt is pretty simple. all you do is use freezer paper stencils ( http://www.according-to-kelly.com/2008/02/who-says-t-shirts-are-boring.html ) & then bleach. i diluted the bleach, put in a spray bottle & spritzed away. slowly... and don't do too much, you don't want a hole in your shirt!

do you die the shirt first? How do you get the machine to stay white? I've never done something like this but would LOVE to try!

i did dye the shirt first. but you could start with a colored shirt. & the design stayed white because the bleach is permanent.
