nesting.

i think i'm crazy. really & truly, i'm pretty sure that i'm certifiably insane. don't believe me? just ask my family. i doubt they'd have any problem locking me up & throwing away the key these days. as a means of protecting YOU from my lunacy, i haven't been posting very much lately... i wouldn't want to scare you away, but i just don't think i can hide it anymore.

my mother always warned me that the third baby killed her, & i'm starting to see what she means. besides being crazy, i'm grumpy & crabby all the time. my body & health are shot - when i'm not hobbling around like a 90 year old woman, i'm coughing up a lung. recently, the coughing has gotten so bad i've resorted to sleeping on the couch downstairs, in hopes that some distance will let everyone else in the family sleep. i haven't cooked in weeks, possibly even months. it's sad that my four-year old's response to "what do you want to eat?" results in a long list of restaurants. my house is a disaster... moving the boys into one room has erupted into an explosion of "stuff" that has slowly taken over everything. it literally looks like a bomb has gone off. i've pretty much lost control of everything these days, including my bladder.

& while i'm sure you're ready to agree i'm definitely toeing the line with sanity, the only thing keep me on this side of sane quite possibly is "the list". you know, that incredibly long list of things that need to get done before the baby comes. my list is probably as long as santa's, which is a touch overwhelming. but remember, these days i'm living simply. so, instead of looking at the big, huge, daunting picture, i'm taking things one day at a time. hopefully, i'll be able to learn & thing or two from bob, as i practice my "baby steps".

hopefully i haven't scared you off yet. hopefully you'll come back tomorrow. but just in case you are sick of my complaining, tired of listening to me rant & would probably agree that i'm crazy - check back in a month or so, i'm hoping by then i'll be back to my normal self.

Isn't it funny that we get like that while pregnant. Making the "lists". I continued to do that after Trey arrived. Hang in there...just wait til you meet this new little sweet baby girl! Do you have names yet?

You'll make it. If it makes you feel any better, my house is perpetually a disaster as well. And I don't have pregnancy as an excuse as to why I can't keep up. Your excuse is totally legitimate, a couple years ago I was fat with baby #2 and felt exactly as you do. I can't believe I will be trying for another next year at age 34. You think you're crazy? Try that crazy on for size!!

I always appreciate it when people post about real life. I'm sure there are hundreds of women who will read this post and will completely identify. Thanks for helping the rest of us see that we're not alone in our craziness.

You just described my life perfectly. I am so glad to know I am not the only one! I am worried my poor baby won't recognize me without my cough! The lists, 90 year old body, nesting...I've got it all. (Hopefully not for much longer though)!

Aw & LOL!

Hang in there, baby girl. You can DO this! It's just the hormones ranting and raving.

I act like that and I'm not even pregnant. What does that say about me? Not much, but it should make you feel better. ;)

xoxo

Cut yourself a break, girl! Put your feet up, read a book, eat a cookie and enjoy it because you're mom is right - the 3rd one sucks the sanity right out of you.
Don't worry - it's a good kind of crazy that takes over your life! Lots of choas and laughter. But not alot of time for puting your feet up.
I say, forget the list!

now you know why i don't cook, it's been almost 24 years since i had that #3 baby...and i'm still recovering...however, now days it's nicely recovering in india with him...so just wait 24 years and you can do the same...

Be so grateful it is your 3rd, and NOT your 4th, because my body is pretty much ruined... To the point of no return. WOW. I had no idea it would be this way.

Wow I'm not alone!? Due 4/4 with boy #3 and cannot stop driving myself and family crazy with the nesting. I keep telling myself to "have more fun with my boys" before the baby comes, I think I am just making myself feel guilty about being less able to move around like a normal person! Hang in there, we're almost done...but really just starting over!

Oh know is this what I have to look forward to??? I'm in big trouble!

Hang in there, lady! Personally, with 3 little boys I don't do lists. I feel like making it through the day with everyone smiling provides a better sense of accomplishment than marking anything off a list. Enjoy your quiet nights while you can. The first few months with number 3 are hard but it does calm down!

pregnancy is hard. and so is being a mother, wife, etc. it sounds like you have got it figured out...keep it simple, and go day by day. i like to make to-do lists for each day, that way i am not to overwhelmed. good luck kelly! and try not to sweat the small stuff.

Boy does that all sound familiar. That was me 9 months ago. I had a cough throughout my pregnancy that had me sleeping on the couch every night too. I was sure the baby was getting rattled pretty good. It's nuts how those colds last when you're pregnant. And the nesting lists....I was queen. You'll get things in good order, and then be pleasantly surprised that by the time baby is 6 weeks or so you'll be back in the swing of things again!

Three kids put me under, too. I remember wondering if the sheets would ever get changed again. Someday (in about 40 years when your mind is shot) you'll tell somebody to enjoy their kids while they're young, and that they grow up fast. Right now just try to endure the next few weeks. You'll have time to cook when they are all in school.

I love that you are channeling Bob. I love Bob. That is one of my all time favorite movies.

You'll make it!

Hang in there - we've all been there. You're amazing and you'll still be amazing after baby #3. And we'll be waiting to hear all about it.
