decisions, decisions.

way, way back, what seems like a zillion years ago, i thought i had things figured out. of course that particular quilt was more purple-y & girly in the traditional kind of way. but i pretty much assumed it had been hung on the wall to stay. but now that this quilt has arrived home & is currently testing out the spot on the wall, i'm having a hard time making a decision. it really isn't that big of a deal, or at least that's what the hubby is continually telling me. but, right now it is a big deal, at least to my sanity. this simple decision will have a huge, no astronomical impact on the entire room. whichever quilt is chosen will ultimately play a big part in the decision regarding what color to paint the powder blue dresser (perhaps a bright tangerine for a little pop! or maybe we don't paint it at all?). it will also effect (or is it affect?) the wall hangings, light fixtures & all the other little odds & ends that will play apart of making this room "hers"... in the end, this simple quilt decision could totally & completely shape this little lady's personality & life-to-be. okay, so maybe i am being just a bit over dramatic, it's just the hormones talking. but seriously, this is a big decision, & i hate making decisions.

I say paint the dresser yellow. Yellow goes with purple, and it clearly goes with the current quilt on display, and it is a unisex color.
Plus, it is a very happy color.

If the opinion of a crazy lady from the internet matters I think the dresser should stay the color it is. We have that very same dresser and it is really such a pretty color of blue.

But I do like the second quilt a little better.

What color are the walls?
I think that the dresser would be cute in lime green (the green in the quilt looks lime green on my screen) it would be cute with some of the pinks & blues from the quilt thrown into the decor to pull it together.

I think I like the purple one best! Pulling out the tangerine would be super fun! The pink seems a little bit more traditional. The purple is a little more fun? It's a hard decision!! Good Luck!!

I like the purple one because the squares are bigger and more graphic. Making more of an impact.

But they're both very cute!

I love them both but for some reason am leaning toward the first because of the sort of edgy twist. It's unexpected and slightly more fun. But both are beautiful. Love blue or tangerine for a dresser. Lovely ideas, all.

Hmmm, I'm leaning toward the 2nd quilt (pictured in this post). I like all the colors, especially the orange. Maybe you should paint the dresser tangerine, like you suggested, but then distress it so that the blue shows through. (I'm loving orange and blue as of late).

There's my two cents!

Well, there are certainly enough colors that you couldn't go wrong whatever your choice! It will look beautiful, so don't worry about it.

BTW, it is 'affect.' Remember the difference like this: "effect" is a noun. You often put 'the' in front of nouns...like the ball, the cat. Match the 'e' in 'the' with the 'e' in effect and you will never go wrong.
On the other side..."affect" is a verb. Verbs are Action words A is for action--a is for affect!
Hope that helps, LOL!

You know what, I REALLY like the quilt in this post and I think it would look great with a blue dresser ... the darker blue in the quilt against white walls.
