absurd, batty, berserk, bonkers, cracked, crazy, cuckoo, daft, delirious, demented, deranged, dingy, dippy, flipped out, freaked out, fruity, idiotic, insane, kooky, lunatic, mad, maniacal, mental, nuts, nutty, out of my mind, & psycho are just a few of the words you might use to describe me. & don't worry, I won't be offended, because i'm kinda wondering if i've fallen off my rocker. i kept saying i wasn't going to do it.  but then carrie started enticing me with promises of a sequin running skirt. & i'm not gonna lie, i really want a turquoise running skirt. so i succumbed to the peer pressure. better live it up now, training starts next week for the surf city usa FULL marathon. 26.2 miles is a long way to run, i hope i have it in me. being a total newbie i am extremely open to any & all tips and suggestions!

You can do it! I ran a half (I know it's not the same thing, but it was huge for this asthmatic non-runner girl). The sequin running skirt should help ;-)

The sequins will help you run faster. I always run faster when I know I look good.

Can't imagine doing something crazy like this without my friends!!

Even if our times aren't great, people will be "dazzled" by our running anyway!

Kelly, you'll have a blast. A marathon is a big commitment, but it is so worth it. You'll have such a sense of accomplishment upon crossing the finish! My recommendation (if you don't already have a planned training program) is to use the Hal Higdon training program. I've used his every time, and I always feel prepared. Another suggestion: stretch, stretch, and stretch some more to keep your muscles and tendons happy! Good luck!

you'll have a blast and have such a feeling of accomplishment... nothing like knowing you just ran 26.2 miles. i've done it once(before kids)and it was a ton of fun! and if you're doing it with friends, it'll be even more fun and you'll be able to motivate each other. :)
