leaving on a jet plane?

June is finally here! That means summer has officially begun & vacations are just around the corner! I don't know about you, but taking my wee little ones on a plane, isn't always fun or easy. Gavin is such a wiggle worm... it's hard to get him sitting still. Lucky for me, my mom, found the greatest thing ever - the CARES airplane safety restraint harness. Seriously, this has been a life saver. I realize I can take the car seat on the plane... but it's a pain, having to haul it & my two kids through the airport, especially if I'm alone. CARES is lightweight & easy to install on any airplane seat. If you've got little ones & are planning a plane trip, go HERE to check it out. Just thought I'd pass it along!

i'm flying cross-country with all three kids next week. it's my second time doing it, though, so i'm feeling pretty good about it. i just wish parker could read, because reading is such easy entertainment. . .

miles may be tricky now that he crawls, oh no, now i'm getting nervous!

I still have major anxiety attacks flying with my four. We have NEVER had a good experience in all my 8 1/2 years of parenthood. I think you have just inspired a number of future blogs...

I always took the Benedryl approach. Take some. You'll sleep through the whole thing! What are flight attendants for, anyway? They love kids!

flights are a crazy thing. whether you are by yourself or with someone, it's never fun traveling with a kid. on our last flight, i made sure to stock up on lots of snacks (pretzels etc, i tried to keep the sugar to a minimum). and i got lots of books. Gav can't read, but he loves to flip through books. I also brought along a couple of those aqua doodle travel mats. they are great. all you do is fill the pen with water and they can color on the pages. when it dries, it goes back to white, so they can't start over again. gavin really liked these. i also bring my ipod which i've loaded with a bunch of movies.

I've done the benadryl thing, but it never really knocks gavin out.

if anyone buys the cares... let me know, I did make one small adjustment to it, that will make your life even easier. basically i added a strap to go between the legs. this keeps gavin in the seat, no wiggling out. just like a car seat.
