pinching my pennies.

i'm the first to admit that i'm terrible at finding the deals. but, seeing as we're financing the start of a new business or two, we're really trying to watch our spending. so, i decided it was time to start clipping coupons. i've only been at it a couple of weeks & i'm absolutely amazed. shopping for groceries is always an expensive process... just the necessities can run us well over a hundred dollars. so you can imagine my surprise when i was able to cut that bill in half. with help from THIS website i clip my coupons, shop for groceries & save a buck, or two, or eighty. oh, & for all you nay-sayers out there... let me point out, that i only buy specific brands, & i don't buy anything just because it's on sale. yet, i'm totally able to feed my family & save me some moola. check out today's receipt:
no, that's not a mistake, i didn't get it mixed up. i really & truly bought an ENTIRE cart full of groceries (including 3 gallons of milk, apple juice, cereal, tri-tip) for a grand total of $64.85. and yes, with $80.93 is savings, i actually saved more than i spent.

I didn't know some stores do double coupons. I'd love to know which ones do that.

Good for you. I am going to try. I hate coupons but my grocery bills are hideous.

That is way impressive. It is tax season and we already own a business and it is pretty tight on our budget this time of year so this should help me out for sure. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your shopping trip!

I think we are going to try it out. I've NEVER been able to sit down and look at ads and cut coupons. I just don't have the time. After reading about the grocery game, I really think I could do it! Thanks for the tip!

Wow, that is amazing! I am so impressed. I would be shouting that from the rooftops too if that were me.

I have been having major problems with my email. So sorry. Did you get my reply about the necklace? I had said I liked your option number two with the bullets in between and also asked if you could add a B so it is
N B M E C.
Thanks!

Thanks Kelly for the help. I've never really used coupons, but our grocery budget has been hard hit by higher grocery prices! After all, every little bit helps (especially when you're saving for a house!).

I tried to do the grocery game last month but it was so busy I didn't have time to clip the coupons. I'm glad to hear about it working for you. I'll have to try again.

That's great! Coupons have never really worked for me, there are rarely coupons for the products I purchase. I wish there were though!

You are my inspiration once again!

we play the grocery game, too. it saves us major cash! $65 is our weekly grocery budget and it's totally do-able!

I have been tempted to try the cupon thing...I guess I am just afraid that it will be just one more thing to turn my mind towards-

I am going to check out the website. $80 is worth the extra mind power!

Definitely on my way to check out that website. Any way to save money on groceries (with out hitting 16 different stores) sounds good to me!

Thank you so much! I signed up with all intentions of going full time with this funness!!! I love coupons...I love them so much my 83 year old grandma cuts ALL the coupons she has in her newspaper and mails them to me each week! Without this site, I have been known to save a pretty penny on groceries, now my game has just been enhanced to "Semi-pro" Thanks...

Oh and I put the email that you have listed with your blog as the "referring" friend, I hope you will get some kind of credit! Let me know if it was another email, I will gladly put your name down!

This is a wondeful idea. Do you think it is only worth it if the store will double the coupons? The stores here only double up to 55cents. Let me know what you think.
