some new bling.

show & tell

every once in a while, someone contacts me with a "special request". i'm loving this recent creation for a fancy lady in nyc. a little bit of glitz, a whole lot of gold & just a touch of glamour... the perfect medical id bracelet for such a swanky gal. hope she likes it as much as i do. now, i think i need a shiny gold bracelet for my wrist too.

fancy nancy apron

ruffles, tulle & a whole lot of sass! what more could a girl want? any & every little girl would love baking, dancing or twirly in the kitchen, in this hot little number. & with just a touch of gingham, it's perfect for this summer's tie on one apron project.

a little bit of sass & a whole lot of fun.

here's what kept me up until 3 in the morning (seriously, will i never learn?). my latest apron creation. crafted specifically for the havana nights tie one on apron project. i don't even really know what a havana night emcopasses, but as soon as i heard the theme, immediately i had a vision... something a little sassy, maybe even sexy, but definitely flirty & fun. you know, an apron you could almost wear dancing. so what do you think? does it scream havana nights?

polka dots & flowers, is there anything better?

here's a sneak peak of a custom order that went out last week (click on picture to enlarge)... an apron collection for a quartet of little girls. all of the aprons are similar, yet slightly different. two aprons were styled after my june apron, named for my grandma, & the other two aprons are what i like to call "diner style" because they remind of what a waitress in a little mom & pop diner might wear. each of the aprons feature my favorite "flower power" fabric on the front, paired with either an aqua & white polka dot trim, or periwinkle & white polka dot trim. all of the aprons are totally reversible, with a solid orange back, "flower power" pocket & polka dot trim.

a shameless plug.

i've been working on a shop update as of late. i've had so many people emailing me for custom order jewelry, aprons & other things. (& that is in no way a complaint. i love creating things for other people, i'm just still trying to figure out how to request extra hours in my day.) anyway, i just haven't had enough time to pay the shop, the attention it deserves. but i'm hoping to change that. i'll slowly be updating & adding some "new" items in the next little bit... i'm just busy "road testing" a couple of newbies. so come pay us a visit & if you'd like to see something special in the shop, let me know - i'm always open to new ideas. xoxo.

getting my swap on.

i have no problem admitting that i am totally addicted to swaps. what's not to love? you get the chance to both give & receive, & to be honest, i haven't quite decided which i like better. anyway... i most recently participated in the sassy apron swap. (how could i resist, it combined two of my most favorite things... swapping & aprons.) so, now that i know mollie has received my package, i'm posting a picture of my latest apron creation.

flower power.

this cute little number has been packaged, stamped & is waiting in my mail box this very minute. soon the nice mail carrier is going to come & take it away. it will then be hustled & bustled about until it finally makes it's way to kerry's doorstep. hopefully it will make you smile each & every time you put it on. enjoy!

is in the shop. it's something special... created originally as a custom order, they were too cute not to share! a little shin-ey, a whole lot of jingle jangle & a little pearl tucked in here & there. check out the new bracelets HERE!

packaged & sent

i recently had the great pleasure of creating a pair of aprons for two sisters who love to bake... hopefully they will soon be dusted in flour & splattered with cookie dough. hope they're perfect. enjoy!

making their debut...

there is something (or rather "things") new in the shop. but before i get to that, i just want to say a heart felt thank you! never, never, never in a zillion years, would i have thought that i would have some much success, so quickly! i toyed with the idea of opening the shop for practically ages. but i was too scared. finally i bit the bullet & heavens! the support & encouragement i have received has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. i've actually sold things in the shop, people actually like my things! but even more incredible, has been the onslaught of custom orders via my email... i hung up my "open for business" sign & suddenly i was receiving so many emails requesting custom made pieces. i love it! & i love all of you for making this happen! thank you! thank you! thank you!

i could say it a million times in a million ways...

but thank you just doesn't seem to be enough. this past weekend, the big boutique, was a huge success (if i do say so myself)... in large part to you! i was truly amazed, flattered & inspired by how many of you out there in the blog-o-sphere made the trip to visit with us. i enjoyed meeting & chatting with you, i only wish the afternoon could have lasted longer, in order to have spent more time with each of you... it was such fun! i hope you enjoyed yourselves as well! for those of you who couldn't make it, here are some quick shots of the goodies i had up for sale (click on the image to enlarge)... aprons (everything from 'lil girlie aprons to ones with lots & lots of ruffles), paci clips, hair bands, onesies, baby blankets & hand-stamped necklaces. sneak peak.

as you may or may not have known, i have been busy getting ready for THIS. (don't forget, it's tomorrow, saturday, october 20th!)anyway... a long long time ago, in what seems like practically another life, i was going to school here, to get this. while my professors were teaching me the finer points of accounting & organizational behavior, they probably imagined that i would be putting my newly polished business skills to work in some large company. possibly heading up the marketing department or maybe overseeing product manufacturing in china. i truly doubted that the idea of me being a one-gal sweat shop ever entered their mind. but, that's what i've become. crafts & projects have taken over my house. (i'm sure my hubby & boys will be thrilled when all this is over... they'll have their wife & mommy back. they've been a wee bit neglected.)

so without further ado, here's a sneak peak at the goods i'll be offering up tomorrow. (click on the image to see it bigger, in all it's glory.) i have to admit, i feel a bit like the wizard in wizard of oz, revealing what's behind the curtain...

this little beauty is off to the post office today, ready to be shipped to a special, unsuspecting friend. i hope wearing the words 'round her neck will give her a bit of strength, help her through some tough times & remind her that she is constantly in my thoughts & prayers. hope she enjoys it!

here are the goodies isent off to sweet sarah. i'm most excited about the little craft utility apron i made. i have to admit i had a hard time giving it away. i saw one somewhere (i don't remember where, otherwise i'd definitely give credit), & knew i could make one. i'm not the brightest when it comes to sewing, so it took me a couple tries & lots of ripped seams, but i eventually figured it out. hopefully sarah enjoyed the package!
